Rentokil Initial in 'Giving Back' | Klang Valley

Marking the end of 2011 in ‘Giving Back’ to the society, the Christmas season called for us to celebrate with Yayasan Sunbeams Home (YSH), Cheras by sharing the happiness and a heart full of love, on the morning of Christmas Eve, 24 December 2011, Saturday.
The event started as early 10am with the children performing Christmas carols as a welcome gesture and a show of appreciation to Rentokil Initial (RI). Some 60 children and 20 caretakers were then educated on personal hygiene through a Personal Hygiene Awareness Talk (PHAT). Among the good hygiene habits, they were thought the proper ways of hand washing through a demonstration of hand washing steps, while singing the hand washing song. Hand washing posters were also presented to the caretakers as a reminder for the children on the correct ways of hand washing that they need to practice on a daily basis.
To share the gladness of the season, RI 'Santas and Santarinas' also sang along Christmas carols, played games with the children, and donated old books and feminine hygiene care for girls above 10 years old. A general pest control treatment was also carried out in the Home. As an icing on the cake, 2 brand new laptops were also presented as a supplement learning and education tool for the children. It drew more cheers from the children who were delighted with this surprise gift. Towards the end of their visit, RI staff enjoyed finger lickin’ lunch together with the children before giving away RI balloons as a souvenir.
It was indeed a fruitful day to have shared the spirit of Christmas with the underprivileged children in Yayasan Sunbeams Home as our final CSR activity for 2011. Rentokil Initial looks forward to conducting more CSR activities in ‘Giving Back’ to the society in 2012 and many more years to come.
