Rentokil Initial Malaysia is dedicated to educate young children about the importance of good hygiene habits and pest awareness. Rentokil Initial recently organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at Ray Of Hope, Ipoh. This marks the second visit by Rentokil Initial Malaysia since June 2012. A total of 40 Rentokil Initial employees volunteered to participate in this good cause by spending time, skills and resources to promote good hygiene practices and create dengue awareness among children and caretakers.
The programme started off with a welcome speech by Datin Mary Yeoh, Chairman of Ray Of Hope and followed by an opening speech by Mr. Richard Ow, Senior Branch Manager of Rentokil Initial Ipoh. After that, the children were reminded again on the difference between clean and hygiene, proper hand washing methods and good washroom habits that were accentuated in the Personal Hygiene Awareness Talk by the experts from Initial Hygiene. The educational session were shared with approximately 25 children and members of Ray Of Hope.
Additionally, interactive sessions such as fun quizzes and ‘Hand Washing’ sing-along song have created an ambience of excitement among the children when winners were presented with special goodie bags.
Towards the end of the programme, Rentokil Initial also donated needful provisions and carried out gotong-royong around the home compound to further elevate the hygiene standards. General pest control treatment and mosquito fogging were also conducted in the home premises as a complimentary service. Rentokil Initial focuses on ‘Giving Back’ to the society by providing ‘the essentials’, basic necessities in life to create a healthier environment.
As the leader in pest control and hygiene industries, Rentokil Initial looks forward to conducting continuous CSR activities to contribute back to the society.
